my mom coined the name of this album. when I played her one of the tracks, she offered a couple of kind words, but her honest sentiment was: "I don't understand this tech music." And then I just knew that's what I was going to call it.

tekmusiq reflects a personal journey for me of about 2 years worth of effort. this is my first true solo album and it is a labor of love and frustration. I'm both proud and petrified of that fact that I calculated every single noise on every single track on this album, listening to things over and over, relentlessly, pushing the gain and trying to find the right gel.

what I ended up with, more often than not, was music based in repetition with tracks that were anything but repetitive. I like tones that keep moving, beats that keep shifting, playing games with the ear and defying expectations as much as possible. But I love melody, guitars solos, buildups, and explosions.

And so I took it all and shaped my own aesthetic - I believe its unique, but its me, and that's all I'm trying to do. Whether you find it exhilarating or exhausting, tekmusiq bears a little bit of my soul, destroyed, electrocuted, sucked into a vacuum, and then stretched to infinity.
